This wonderfully detailed and cutout Sisiutl bracelet by Kwakwaka'wakw artist William Cook is truly magnificent. The Sisiutl, or sea serpent is a well-known figure in many Indigenous cultures of the Northwest Coast. It is often associated with Shamans because of links between the spirit and natural worlds. In Kwakwaka'wakw culture, the Sisiutl is often depicted as a two-headed sea serpent with a human-like face in the centre.
