Artist note: "This lively psychological landscape of sorts was painted two years ago [from 2020] during a time when three undesired events collided in my life, launching me into a difficult crisis journey. I painted it while thinking about those words, Emergency, and Emergence, and how closely related they are. How Emergencies often clear the way for new perceptions. Kind of like how the fireweed plant shoots up from forests charred and laid bare from forest fires. I’ve been thinking about this painting a lot lately, how it might embody a message of this era of Emergency and Emergence." Inspired by the experience of crisis. What happens when we reach the end of ourselves? This was the question that motivated my creative process.
