This is your chance to own a one-of-a-kind Northwest Coast hand carved and painted eagle panel by well-known Gitxsan artist Trevor Angus.
The 36-inch panel is carved in beautiful western red-cedar, a staple of the Northwest Coast, known for its aromatic properties and soft open grain. The carved lines have been delicately carved and painted using vibrant acrylic reds and blacks that have been a staple of Northwest Coast design for centuries.
Trevor Angus is known for his crisp, clean lines and his contemporary adaption of traditional Northwest Coast style. The wonderful soft curve of the eagle’s beak and use of formline in juxtaposition to the circular form of the panel is stunning. Angus is known for creating bold contemporary designs, and his panels are some of his most popular works.
The life and mythology of the Gitxsan people is closely related to their relationship with the land and the Skeena River. The eagle is a central figure in many Indigenous cultures across the Northwest Coast and is known for its power and wisdom.
This Eagle Panel by Trevor Angus emits a flow and energy that will infuse your home or office with a powerful cultural presence and ambience.
